Adult Soccer Ends Season with Win

The "New Guys" adult soccer team finished the season with a 6-5 victory over "Reloaded". Our record stands at 4-5-1. The spectator attendance was not near as strong as it could have been. If you didn't make it to a single game, you missed out on an incredible entertainment opportunity.

July - Rules of the Game

While play is in the penalty area in front of the lead assistant referee, that assistant raises the flag with a waggle. When the referee on the far side of the penalty area blows the whistle, the assistant walks to the corner flag and stands at attention. What is the assistant referee signaling?

June - Rules of the Game

Keeper B1 comes out of the penalty area to defend a breakaway by A9. A9 successfully eludes B1 and continues toward the goal, but is intercepted by B2 near the goalline. B2 tackles the ball away from A9 and knocks the ball up-field. B1, who was outside the penalty area but is running back toward the play, picks up the ball inside the area marked by the penalty arc.

"Parents" Win First Game 7-Nil

The "New Guys" soccer team, made up of adult aged players that include former high school players, coaches and parents, shut-out the "Reloaded" team from Kokomo on Monday, June 4, 2007. Anybody wanting to see how soccer should be played, especially the younger players in our community, are encouraged to come out and watch. Who knows, you might learn something.

U16 Girls End on a Winning Note

The Rossville U16 Girls wrapped up their season this past weekend on a winning note, but not before suffering a loss on Saturday. The Fusion made the trip to Rossville on Saturday and left with a 3-1 win. The Hornets were plagued by a lackluster performance as they were out hustled and beaten to every ball.

GLRSA Tournament

Just an update on our 2 Greater Lafayette Recreational Soccer Alliance U-10 teams. Both teams have completed our regular seasons and will begin the tournament this next week. While the boys' team has had the most W/L success, the girls' team has made some great strides.

U12 vs.Carroll

Saturday, May 5th, 2007
The Rossville squad took on Carroll for the first and only time this season. The Hornets jumped out to an early lead in the first half on a goal by Nolan Beery. Carroll came back and tied it up before the end of the first half. Again in the second half the Hornets took the lead, this time on a goal by Carson Crow. Despite excellent defense, the Carroll team was able to sneak one in. The match ended 2-2. In a conversation with the Carroll coach, he said ours was the toughest team they have faced.

U-12 game 4/15

The weather Sunday was much better than we had been experiencing and we were thankful for that. However, our focus was a no-show. I hope that is due to the extended amount of time between this and our previous games. To all that came out to support the team and soccer, thank you.
