Greetings Soccer Families, 8-19-2008
Here's an update on Rossville Soccer:
VARSITY BOYS SOCCER TEAM: The first home game is at 4:30 Wed against Frankfort. Come support the team on the new high school field!
SUMMERS END is this Saturday, Aug 23. We have several activities going on!
Indiana Youth Soccer Disclosure Form
This is a MANDATORY form that must be completed at least every 2 years. This is done to protect the players and anyone else involved in youth soccer. This is a statewide program that must be completed before anyone can be involved with the program in any position, whether coach, assistant coach, referee or any other volunteer including the Board. Please click on the link and do your part.
British Soccer - Challenger Camp scheduled in Rossville
The Rossville Area Youth Soccer is once again hosting the Challenger Sports Soccer Camp and it will be held from June 15 thru June 19 2009 at the Rossville Town Park. This is an excellent opportunity for participants to learn from one of the most well known youth soccer training organizations in the US and Canada right here in your own back yard.
Girls U16AA 2008 Spring Season Schedule (with maps)
The Rossville Lady Hornets schedule has been released by the league. Game play begins on the road against the Speedway Sparks on Sunday April 6th. The first home game is the following Saturday April 12th facing the other team from Speedway, the Hurricanes. The home stand continues on April 14th as the Little Mavs invade the town park. No rest for the Hornets as the home games continue the next day, Sun April 20 against the AASA Blitz 93. Then its on the road for games on April 26th against Indiana FC in Lafayette and on April 27th at Sporting Indiana FC in Muncie. The Hornets get a week off then back on the road to face the Hamilton Heights Stingersa FC on May 11th (Mothers Day). The season wraps up at home in the town park on May 17th as the Batesville Blast come to town. The schedule can also be found on the calendar. Just click on the games for start times and venues.

Scheduling Practice Fields for Recreation League
September 14, 2007. The Field scheduling for the remainder of the recreational season is on a first come basis. The scheduling system was being used through the first part of the season due to the high demand for practice locations.

While play is in the penalty area in front of the lead assistant referee, that assistant raises the flag with a waggle. When the referee on the far side of the penalty area blows the whistle, the assistant walks to the corner flag and stands at attention. What is the assistant referee signaling?

June - Rules of the Game
Keeper B1 comes out of the penalty area to defend a breakaway by A9. A9 successfully eludes B1 and continues toward the goal, but is intercepted by B2 near the goalline. B2 tackles the ball away from A9 and knocks the ball up-field. B1, who was outside the penalty area but is running back toward the play, picks up the ball inside the area marked by the penalty arc.

U16 Girls End on a Winning Note
The Rossville U16 Girls wrapped up their season this past weekend on a winning note, but not before suffering a loss on Saturday. The Fusion made the trip to Rossville on Saturday and left with a 3-1 win. The Hornets were plagued by a lackluster performance as they were out hustled and beaten to every ball.
